Franchise Film dengan Sekuel/Prekuel Terbanyak

Membuat film bukanlah perkara yang mudah. Seringkali kegagalan demi kegagalan harus dilalui orang sebelum sukses dengan karyanya. Diantara kegagalan dan kesuksesan tersebut, para sineas besar lalu belajar dan menjadi matang bagaimana cara untuk membuat penghasilan lebih bnayak melalui karya-karya mereka.

Sebuah film yang sukses seringkali dibuat sekuel (kelanjutan kisahnya) ataupun prekuel (kisah sebelumnya). Dan ketika sekuel/prekuelnya juga sukses, maka sineas akan lebih bersemangat untuk terus memproduksi film yang sama dengan banyak kisah lanjutan. Itulah yang disebut dengan franchise. Misalnya Fast & Furious dan Harry Potter yang terus menerus mendatangkan banyak uang bagi produser filmnya.

Selain film animasi, cartoon, dan film direct to video ; ada beberapa film sekuel/prekuel yang pantas dimasukkan ke dalam list film dengan sekuel/prekuel terbanyak. Sudah barang tentu, film-film superhero akan banyak masuk kategori ini. Karena biasanya film bertema Superhero sering dibuat ulang (reboot), maka dengan berat hati tidak dapat dimasukkan dalam list.
